Description:

Tin-glazed Earthenware Sportsman Plate, England, c. 1776, probably London, burnt orange rim to a floral border surrounding a rococo-style floral- and foliate-framed cartouche with central landscape featuring a hunter with long rifle and two hounds above an inscription "STEPHEN; DELL," the reverse with three branch-like motifs surrounding a central date inscribed "1776," dia. 9 in.

Rim with typical glaze abrasions and minor chipping. Scattered craze lines throughout.
