George II Sterling Silver Tankard, London, 1722-23, Thomas Tearle, maker, cylindrical, with a domed lid, scrolled thumbpiece and handle, an applied waistband, and engraved monogram to center, ht. 7 in., approx. 21.3 troy oz.

Shallow dent to one side edge of lid, also with rough solder/restoration to joint of rim. Thumbpiece and handle with corresponding dents to where each makes contact with the other. Silver surface along monogram slightly weaker, probably re-engraved. Foot rim with several minor unobtrusive dents. Surface wear throughout consistent with age. Lid shuts well, no splitting along joints.
