Description:

Lieutenant Robert Henley Naval Medal, Unites States Mint, Philadelphia, c. 1817, designed by Moritz Furst and struck in bronzed copper, the obverse with bust of Henley facing right, the reverse, with a view of the Battle of Plattsburgh, original reverse die lacking the initials "CB" for Charles Barber of the later pieces, (likely cleaned), dia. 65 mm.
