Kenny Scharf (American, b. 1958)

Painted Hard Hat from Mural Project in Salem, Massachusetts, 2012. Signed "K Scharf '12" in marker on the underside of the hat's brim. Plastic hard hat and paint, approximately 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 (diameter) in. Condition: Signature slightly worn off at center.

N.B. This is one of three hard hats that were used during the painting of Kenny Scharf's mural in Salem, Massachusetts, in May of 2012. The mural was painted on the wall of the garage at Museum Place Mall, at the corner of Brown and New Liberty Streets. One of the three hats was given to the City of Salem, one was given to the project assistant, and the item at hand was gifted for sale to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem.
