Mahogany Game and Desk Box, probably England, mid-19th century, the hinged top opens to reveal an inlaid backgammon board and lift-out interior with lidded compartments, folding baize writing surface/checkerboard, a deck of cards, game pieces for chess and checkers, a pen tray and two glass inkwells, the shaped brass escutcheon at the front of the box engraved "RF," box ht. 6, wd. 16, dp. 10 3/4 in.
