Lieutenant Robertson's Cased Signal Flag Training Kit, early 20th century, the hinged dovetailed case lettered "Lieut. W.F. Robertson. R.N.V.R." opens to reveal the painted underside of the top with a warship flying a British flag approaching harbor, and an interior containing ninety-one open compartments, many marked, many containing painted sheet metal signal and code flags, which can be hung on any of the dozens of nails in the rigging of the ship or shore building above, ht. open 26, case ht. 3 1/4, wd. 18, dp. 24 in.
