Manuscript Transcripts of Admiral Nelson's Fleet Logbooks from the Battle of Trafalgar, October 21, 1805, likely copied in the 1830s, most sheets watermarked "HUXHAM MILL/1832," transcriptions describe maneuvers, battle damage, death of Nelson, and aftermath of the Battle of Trafalgar, includes section of logbooks from the following ships: HMS Africa, October 21-30; HMS Victory, October 19-26; HMS Temeraire, October 22-November 3; HMS Britannia, October 21-November 1; HMS Agamemnon, October 21-26; HMS Orion, October 21-November 3; HMS Minotaur, October 21-30; HMS Spartiate, October 21-30; HMS Royal Sovereign, October 19-30; HMS Belleisle, October 21-25; HMS Bellerophon, October 19-28; HMS Revenge, October 21-28; HMS Polyphemus, October 21-November 3; HMS Swiftsure, October 21-30; HMS Dreadnought, October 21-30; HMS Defiance, October 21-31; HMS Thunderer, October 21-31; HMS Defence, October 21-31; HMS Prince, October 21-27; HMS Euryalus, October 20-30; HMS Naiad, October 22-25; HMS Phoebe, October 21-31, HMS Sirius, October 19-31; HMS Pickle, October 21-27; and HMS Entreprenante, October 22-31; a document noting the ships' names and abridged extracts from some of their logs; and a document noting the disabled state of masts, yards, etc. of the fleet, twenty-seven items total, (folds, minor tears and separations),ht. 12 3/4, wd. 8 in.

Provenance: Likely compiled by the 1805 captain of HMS Sirius in the 1830s, when he was working in London.
