Miniature Watercolor Memorial to Admiral Lord Nelson, England, early 19th century, oval, depicting a woman seated in mourning next to a stone marker inscribed "Nelson," with a sailing vessel in the distance, the reverse with fancy hairwork highlighted in gilt threads and seed pearls under beveled glass, 2 x 1 1/2 in.
Provenance: Purchased c. 1960s from a descendant of Nelson's family, the memorial having belonged to Nelson's daughter Horatia.
