Paint-decorated Tall Case Clock, Silas Hoadley, Plymouth, Connecticut and Thomas Matteson, South Shaftsbury, Vermont, early 19th century, the hood with scrolled cresting above the tombstone-glazed panel, a white polychrome painted and gilded masonic dial with seconds hand and calendar indicator lettered "S. HOADLEY PLYMOUTH" above the waist door on cove molded base and cutout feet; the case elaborately painted to resemble exotic woods and inlays; with a thirty-hour wooden weight-driven movement, ht. 88 in.
