Monogrammed and dated "E.B./19...46" within the composition u.c.;,signed, titled, dated and inscribed "E. Berman/Hollywood Oct 1940-July 1946/.../E.B. 1946" on the verso.
Gouache and ink on paper, 12 3/4 x 19 7/8 in. (32.3 x 50.6 cm),framed.
Condition: Creases to l.l. and u.l. corners, handling creases, hinged to backing paper on the verso, tape remnants to verso.
N.B. On October 15, 1946, the American Ballet Theatre opened its second production of Giselle, with scenery and costumes by Eugene Berman. This gouache of Berman's curtain design was also issued as a limited edition screen print.
