Portrait of Two Sisters
Inscribed "VAE/MAE" u.l., "AETATIS I IAER/161..." u.r., with the monogram "W.R." on a paper label affixed to the reverse, identified on an undated label from the Lyman Allen Museum, Members Collect exhibition, New London, Connecticut.
Oil on panel, 25 1/2 x 19 in. (64.5 x 48.0 cm),framed.
Condition: Vertical cracks to the panel, retouch, abrasions, surface grime.

The date on the front appears to be "1614," although the last digital is difficult to read. With an illegible red wax collector's seal on the reverse.
Areas of retouch include along the center crack just under the left sitter's right hand. Additionally, retouch in small areas in the upper section of the canvas, above the girl's head and near the nose of the left sitter. These areas are small, each one not measuring above 0.5cm.
Framed dimensions are 32 x 26 in.
