Simon Willard Mahogany Eight-day Tall Clock, Roxbury, Massachusetts, c. 1795, the case with pierced fret top, cast brass finials, brass fluted, freestanding columns flanking the glazed hood door and painted iron dial with floral spandrels and moon's age dial in the arch, brass stop fluted quarter-columns flanking the rectangular waist door with line inlay, the base with conforming inlay on ogee bracket feet, eight-day brass movement with hour strike, calendar and moon's age dial, regulated by a brass-faced pendulum and powered by two tin-cased weights, ht. 93 in.
Minor repairs to fret, original brass finials, feet all original except on minor glue block, dial is undisturbed including signature, minor touch up on dial post areas. Moon's age dial original with minor age-consistent losses, date dial is probably an old repaint, both door locks are replacements.
