Description:

Six Carved Snuff Boxes, France, 19th century, each depicting historical scenes with Napoleon or other figures, with inscriptions in French, five burlwood, dia. 2 5/8 to 3 3/8; and a bois durci with a portrait of Charles X, dia. 3 1/4 in.
Estimate $500-700

Each with overall small nicks, small chips, abrasions, two showing signs of warping to lid, other signs of wear appropriate with age and use to surfaces of interiors and exteriors. One inscribed "Derniers Momens de Napoleon" with small chip, minor split and scratch on base; one with inscription "Fete Flamande" with small interior chip on rim; "Charles X Roi De France" box with chips to interior rim
