Description:

Regency Mahogany Harlequin-style Writing Desk, England, 19th century, the hinged lift-top opens to reveal a fold-out top and spring-loaded superstructure with multiple drawers and compartments, an adjustable writing surface with stand, frieze drawer which contains multiple compartments surmounting a vacant cabinet enclosed by tambour doors, all supported on tapered legs with metal mounts and casters, ht. 36 1/4, wd. 26 3/4, dp. 21 1/4 in.

Closed ht. 36, wd. 25 3/4, dp. 21 inches. Scattered minor professional restoration including veneer patches, bracing to underside, repaired cracks to legs. Both sides and back with cracks to panels. Scattered abrasions particularly to top surface. Hardware replaced (with patches around original). Tambour door to right side not anchored.
