French Empire Mahogany and Marble-top Commode, mid-19th century, a black marble top surmounting a single-drawer frieze projecting over three drawers flanked by gilt-bronze highlighted columnar stiles on turned feet, ht. 35, wd. 51, dp. 25 1/2 in.

Finish dry and flaking throughout. Each side panel with vertical crack extending the length of panel, right side with additional 4 inch crack, left side with chipped loss to edge of lower molding (about 7 inches). Marble with minor surface abrasions.
