Description:

Flemish Verdure Tapestry Panel, c. 1700, weaver or maker's mark stitched to bottom edge "M·R·D·E(F)·A·," featuring two women in the foreground with a cluster of robed men against an architectural backdrop, with a foliate scrollwork border, approx. 112 x 86 in.

Good condition with numerous splits that need sewing up; some corrosion in silk highlights, minor repairs to out blue border; old reweave at bottom right corner of field. Supporting fabric sewn on the back of both sides, both ends and vertically on both sides of the central axis.
