Description:

Victorian Mahogany Tripod Table, England, a piecrust top supported by a turned pedestal base with acanthine carved legs and ball and claw feet, ht. 21 1/2, dia. 11 in.

Provenance: Deaccessioned from the Worcester Art Museum.

Top (note: dia. 11 inches) slightly sun-bleached with minor abrasions, not affixed to base (old glue residue). Uppermost knop to stem (where top joins) slightly darker finish with old glue residue to joint at base (possibly later),with small crack just below. One leg joint with repaired break, another with a chipped loss to corner, and the third sitting slightly lower on stem. Stem and legs with various minor abrasions and scattered hairline cracks (stable),legs also with heavy/dark-applied finish possibly masking other professional restorations.
