Majolica Jewel Box and Cover, England, c. 1880, attributed to Holdcroft, enameled earthenware of octagonal shape with scalloped ends, dark blue ground with a small chick set atop a blossoming branch on the cover, unmarked, lg. 7 in.

Chip under inner rim of cover. No other evidence of any cracks, chips or restorations.
