Pair of Tortoiseshell-glazed Earthenware Plates, England, c. 1760, probably Staffordshire and in the manner of Thomas Whieldon, molded borders in the Chinese rail-and-basket design, allover decorated in translucent enamels, dia. 9 1/8 in.
Provenance: D.M. & P. Manheim.
Each with light age typical surface abrasions. One with an old surface rim chip repaired.
