White Salt-glazed Stoneware Dessert Basket and Stand, England, c. 1760, probably Staffordshire, oval forms press molded and with scalloped rims and florets to openwork trellis bodies, the basket with C-scroll handles, overall lg. 8 1/2, the stand lg. 10 1/8 in.
Provenance: D.M. & P. Manheim.
Literature: Similar illustrated in The Earle Collection of Early Staffordshire Pottery, by Earle, p. 40, illus. 73 and 74.
Basket: Four tight hairlines to rim (one extends into trellis).
Stand: In very good condition throughout with no evidence of any cracks, chips or restorations.
