Description:

Salt-glazed Stoneware Freckle Wine Bottle, England, c. 1676-85, probably London and attributed to the John Dwight potworks, pear shape with narrow neck and loop handle, tea brown glaze, ht. 8 1/2 in.

Provenance: Jonathan Horne.

Literature: Identical to an example in John Dwight's Fulham Pottery, plate VII.
Estimate $2,000-3,000

Age typical glaze flaking along rim; no evidence of any cracks, chips or restorations.
