Description:

Slipware Caudle Bowl, England, c. 1750-80, probably Devonshire or Somerset, the circular wide mouth shape with four loop handles, orange-yellow glaze to a redware body sgraffito decorated with flowers and broad leaves, dia. 4 3/4 in.
Estimate $1,800-2,200

Top rim with several small rim chips and glaze wear, one larger 3/4" chip; shallow glaze chip to one handle.
