Description:

Two Tin-glazed Earthenware Tiles, England, c. 1775-80, probably Liverpool, attributed to Guy Green printshop, each green glazed to black transfer prints, one with rococo leaf scrolled border surrounding a classical ewer, 4 7/8 x 4 7/8; another with oval frame surrounding a depiction of The Three Graces, 4 3/4 x 4 7/8 in.

Provenance: D.M. & P. Manheim.

Literature: Identical tiles illustrated in English Delftware Tiles, by Ray, plate 78, illus. 769b, plate 79, illus. 778.
Estimate $500-700

One large and numerous small glaze chips surrounding edge.
Graces: In good condition by sight; set in an oak frame. Not examined out of frame.
