Description:

Tin-glazed Earthenware Maiden Dish, England, c. 1740, probably Bristol or possibly London, rim-to-rim blue decorated with an Asian theme, the standing figure portrayed holding a basket and standing in a landscape with partial house and twisted tree to one side, butterfly and fence to the other, dia. 7 5/8 in.

Restored rim chips; heavy glaze loss and abrasions to rim.
