Tin-glazed Earthenware Flowerpot, England, c. 1750, probably London, inverted campana shape with molded lion mask handles, blue decorated with a repeating scene of a European landscape with strolling woman in contemporary dress, stiff leaves surrounding the socle, ht. 7 1/4 in.

Provenance: Ex Coombes Collection.

Literature: Similar in Fair as China Dishes, by Archer and Morgan, illus. 70.

Numerous large craze lines to glaze and rim; footrim with chips of 1/4 and 3/8"; glaze chips to one handle.
