Set of Six Lacquered Covered Bowls, Japan, 19th century, each decorated with gilt young bamboo leaves rising from silver waves on a togidashi maki-e ground, the top of the cover with the Tokugawa family crest in red, green, and gold maki-e, the interior of the bowl and cover in red lacquer, dia. 3 3/4 in.
