Description:

Pair of Bronze Duck-shaped Covered Censors, China, possibly Ming dynasty, each duck standing on a stylized rockwork stand with one leg raised and mouth open, an openwork coin design to tail, incised details to feathers, white metal casting material in base, ht. 7 1/2 in.

Provenance: From the descendants of Dudley L. Pickman (1779-1846), and Charles G. Loring (1828-1902) of Massachusetts.
