Description:

Handscroll Depicting Four Hunting Scenes, China, possibly a later compilation, in the manner of Jin Tingbiao (d. 1767), the scroll preceded by a title "Shoulietu" (Hunting Scenes) calligraphed and signed "Dai Quting" on a decorative paper followed by four postscripts written in various script styles, all on paper and by persons probably of later generations, the four hunting scenes depicting equestrians in Qing costumes chasing animals in natural surroundings, each of which is divided by a painted fabric mat, with an inscription in Chinese and Manchurian with date and artist's name at the beginning and a signature at the end with a seal, ink and color on silk, painting 10 1/4 x 67 3/8 in.
