Description:

Silvered Bronze "Lion & Grape" Mirror, China, possibly Tang dynasty, circular, decorated in relief with four reclined lions around a crouching lion-shaped loop knob in the center, the ground with a raised ring covered with intermingled grapevines and birds, encircled with a patterned band around rim, plain reverse with encrusted patina, dia. 4 1/4 in.

Provenance: Formerly in the collection of an American military official stationed in Singapore in the mid-20th century.
Estimate $3,000-5,000
