Polychrome Giltwood Figure of a Seated Guanyin, China, possibly Song dynasty, 11th/12th century, seated on a lion above rockery that holds a carpet, her face carved with a contemplative expression with painted eyes and mouth, her well-modeled and folded drapery with flowing ribbons at each side complementing the delicately carved jeweled necklace and leg bracelets, ht. 12 1/2 in.
