Description:

Imari Bowl, Japan, 19th/20th century, octagonal, with flaring sides from the middle to rim, resting on a short raised round foot, the interior decorated with two sets of four mythical animal-and-flower designs in polychrome enamels and gold, the well with a floral design in underglaze blue, the exterior a continuous landscape in underglaze blue with overglazed gold and green details, a double ring around the foot, gilt rim, ht. 4 1/4, dia. 8 in.

in good condition with minor loss of gilt to rim.
