Description:

Pair of Archaic Stoneware Bottle Vases, China, possibly Song dynasty, each bulbous body with elongated flared neck and everted mouth rim, decorated in a dark brown marbled effect covered with traces of turquoise glaze, ht. to 8 in.

Provenance: The collection of Andre Carlhian (1883-1968).
Estimate $700-900

Much of glaze worn away, chip to neck on one vase and foot rim of the other.
