Yixing Teapot with Portrait of Mao Zedong, China, 20th century, octagonal form with round mouth and foot, shaped band handle and S-curved spout, light brown clay, decorated in bas-relief depiction of Mao Zedong in profile against a roundel on one side, the character "zhong" (loyalty) on the other, both designs flanked by two calligraphies, the domed cover with shaped band knob with a steam hole below, marked "Gu Jingzhou" (1915-1996) on base, and "Jingzhou" on the cover interior, ht. 2 3/8, wd. 6 5/8 in.
