Pottery Figure of a Foreign Groom, China, Tang dynasty, figure modeled standing on a square base with arms raised as if to hold reins, the face with Central Asian features, flaring nostrils, humorous eyes, and high cheekbones, mouth open showing his teeth, hair gathered into two topknots, wearing a knee-length coat painted red with numerous flower emblems, and boots, ht. 24 in.
