Two Small Blue and White Porcelain Covered Teapots, China, both possibly 18th century, one, bulbous rectangular form with raised rectangular mouth, resting on a raised rectangular foot, right angle handle and short S-shape spout, decorated with floral and foliate motifs, some in shaped panels; and one globular form with raised neck and foot, C-shape handle and L-shape spout, decorated with scholar's accoutrements and auspicious symbols, the domed cover with three patterned bands and a lotus knob on top, six-character Jiajing mark on base, ht. to 4 1/2, wd. to 6 1/8 in.
Provenance: The descendants of Dudley L. Pickman (1779-1846),and Charles G. Loring (1828-1902) of Massachusetts.
