Description:

Two Export Enameled Metal Snuff Bottles, China, 19th/20th century, one purse-form with a concave oval foot, decorated on one side with a European-style painting of Venus and Cupid, the other with a reclining nude, gilt-metal stopper and foot ring, four-character Qianlong mark on base; the other flattened square form with rounded shoulders and a raised oval foot, with raised metal framed panels on each side, the two large panels containing European-style portraits of women, the two smaller containing landscape vignettes, all surrounded by scrolling florals over a yellow ground, metalwork stopper and foot rim, four-character Qianlong mark on base, ht. to 2 7/8 in.
