Antique Renaissance Revival Gold, Enamel, and Amethyst Necklace, Carlo Giuliano, c. 1890, designed as a fringe of graduating bezel-set amethyst cabochons, black and white enamel chain, lg. 15 1/2 in., maker's mark.
Note: The Giuliano studio often used black and white enamel on gold, especially in the 1890s, inspired by 17th century French jewelers such as Jean Toutin. After Carlo's death in 1895 many pieces were produced entirely in black and white enamel.

Enamel with wear and numerous batons with minor nicks and loss, down to metal in a couple of spots, unobtrusive. Amethysts well matched, typical inclusions, but not noticed when worn. Mark is "CG"
