Unsigned, identified in a note affixed to the reverse.
Watercolor and gouache on paper, depicting the stately residence and its immediate vicinity within a double black-lined border delineating the faux mat, 8 1/2 x 11 1/4 (image), 12 1/4 x 15 in. (paper), in a molded giltwood frame.
Condition: Foxing.

Note: A pencil on paper note affixed to the reverse reads in full "Residence of/Dr. G. R. Hall/Shanghai China/copied in/watercolor/from a/daguerreotype/by a Canton/artist 1854."
