Chinese School, Early 19th Century

The Anchorage at Whampoa
Unsigned.
Oil on canvas, the harbor with anchored vessels flying American, British, and French flags, 17 1/2 x 23 in., in carved Chinese frame and gilt liner.
Condition: Cleaned, relined, minor inpainting to a small T-shaped repair in center of sky.

Note: Whampoa housed supplies and provided repair facilities for foreign companies involved in the China trade.
Estimate $12,000-15,000
