Oil on wood panel, the woman wearing a tortoiseshell comb and three-strand necklace, 27 1/2 x 22 3/4 in., in a molded black-painted frame.
Condition: Several minor spots of inpainting, one larger spot in background, panel cradled.

Note: The subject's surname is indicated in several places throughout the painting: on a typewritten label affixed to the panel, in a pencil inscription at the rear top edge of the frame, and in a faint pencil inscription across the subject's neck.
