Hiroshi Yoshida (Japanese/American, 1876-1950)
Misty Morning, Japanese Shoreline
Signed "H.YOSHIDA." l.l.
Watercolor on paper, sight size 12 3/8 x 19 1/8 in. (31.5 x 48.5 cm), framed.
Condition: Not examined out of frame.
The frame was opened for a secondary condition report. The work is on paper, and it is not laid down. It appears to be held in place again the back mat with clear acetate photo corners or similar. The window mat is affixed to the back mat along the outer edges all around, but the adhesive does not impact the work of art at all. We did not pry the mat fully open, to avoid damaging the mat, which seems to be archival. Between the back mat and the outer frame backing, two pieces of wood were inserted that probably served as the backing for an older or original frame. The wood backing is inscribed "1884" in pencil.
