After Albrecht Dürer (German, 1471-1528)

Betrothal of the Virgin
Monogrammed and dated "...AD 1740" l.c.
Gouache, watercolor, and graphite with gilding on vellum or similar, sight size 12 1/4 x 9 in. 131.2 x 23.0 cm), framed.
Condition: Toning, staining losses to gilded areas, minor pigment displacements, not examined out of frame.

Provenance: Skinner, Inc., American & European Paintings & Prints, March 9, 2001, Lot 205.

N.B. This drawing is a reversed version of Betrothal of the Virgin from Dürer's Life of the Virgin published in 1511.
