Inscribed "Guercino" in ink l.c. on the support sheet, with a collector's stamp (see below) on the reverse.
Ink on laid paper, 6 1/2 x 10 5/8 in. (16.3 x 26.9 cm),framed.
Condition: Sheet mounted to a secondary support sheet of laid paper, original sheet with small losses, creases, surface grime.
Provenance: Ex-collection Edward and Mary Brandegee, Boston, c. 1904 (Lugt, 1860c),probably from the collection of Giovanni Piancastelli, Rome.

The paper is probably 18th century. Supporting sheet measures 7 1/8 x 11 3/8 in. (18.0 x 29.0 cm).
Collector's mark consists of a blue stamp with letters MB within a square, the M and B joined together sharing the vertical center line.
