The Procession, 1929, trial proof D-2 (Paff, 286). Signed and dedicated "FrankWBenson. To Corina.T.T. 1938" in pencil l.l., annotated "D-2" in pencil in the lower margin. Etching on laid paper with "ENGLAND" watermark, plate size 5 7/8 x 11 7/8 in. (14.8 x 30.0 cm),unmatted, unframed.
Condition: Full margins with deckled edges to two sides, fine creases to lower margin and just into image (probably from printing),fingerprints and ink marks to margins (recto and verso),glue residue to upper corners recto.
Provenance: Descended within the family of the artist.
N.B. This print was never published. Paff lists only one impression of trial proof D, although this one is annotated D-2.
