Aaron Siskind (American, 1903-1991)
Six Photogravures:Mexico 32, 1982; New York 24, 1988; Morocco 328, 1982; Morocco 93, 1982; Italy 71, 1985; and Bahia 170, 1984. Each titled, dated, and numbered "9/50" in pencil and with the Aaron Siskind Estate stamp in black ink on the verso l.r. Photogravures on paper, image sizes 15 1/2 x 15 1/2 in. (39.5 x 39.5 cm),unmatted, unframed.
Condition: Sheets with deckled edges.
Provenance: Collection of Clary Healy, Providence, Rhode Island.
N.B. The gravures are from a series of six works selected by Aaron Siskind from his book "Road Trip: Photographs 1980-1988" (San Francisco: The Friends of Photography, 1989). The plates were made by Paul Taylor of Renaissance Press and printed by Clary Healy. All the sets in the edition of 50 were printed. In collaboration with Taylor, Siskind chose the paper and approved the plates, but died before the works could be signed. The gravures were stamped posthumously by the artist's estate.

Sheet measures 26 x 22 1/2 in. (66.0 x 57.0 cm). The gravures are in good condition. No issues to report.
