Two English Needlework Pictures, late 17th/early 18th century, each with silk and metallic threads, mounted in later frames; one depicting a stag in a forested landscape with oak trees, ht. 9 1/2, wd. 14 1/4 sight; the other depicting two figures with a castle, lion, unicorn, birds, and urn of flowers, with foliate scroll vines, ht. 10 1/2, wd. 15 7/8 in. sight.
Each with various losses, staining, and tears. Figural stumpwork picture with silk background heavily corroded. "Forested" picture with minor areas of corrosion to backing, scattered repairs. Please see additional detailed images. Pictures not examined or removed from frames.
