Renaissance Revival Carved Oak Display Cabinet, last quarter 19th century, stepped pediment with acanthus and foliage decoration, steer's head masks and floral sprays, over cabinet with two glazed doors with serpent and leaf mullions, framed by foliate scrolls, fruited and floral urns and vines, two interior shaped shelves, all resting on lower cabinet with two doors, carved putti and figural head masks, and gadrooned feet, ht. 91 3/4, wd. 60, dp. 23 in.
Scattered worming throughout. Warping to panels with resulting cracks throughout. Interior base with several horizontal cracks. Small break to glass on front left door. Several carved elements reapplied. Scattered losses to carved elements throughout. One lower door lacking interior hinges, the other only opens with difficultly. Case comes in multiple sections, lacking some pins to side panels, when fully assembled elements are stable.
