George III Sterling Silver Salver, London, 1795-96, Timothy Renou, maker, with a shell and scroll rim, the surface engraved with trailing roses along the edge and the royal coat of arms to the center, on four scrolled feet, dia. 21 1/2 in., approx. 112.8 troy oz.

Depth of engraving along rim much deeper than central coat of arms. The central engraving with wear to surface, silver seems slightly thinner in the center (see images of surface). Areas to the rim professionally restored with solder lines visible to underside (one faint area to front). Otherwise minor nicks and surface abrasions.
