Biedermeier Escritoire, early 19th century, stepped pediment cornice with gilt-bronze mounts projecting over columnar supports with ebonized capitals, two paneled doors in upper case surmount a pull-down writing surface which opens to reveal central inset arch-shaped mirror flanked by drawers, resting atop inscribed platform with cartographic design, lower case has two cabinet doors which open to reveal vacant compartment with interior shelf, (imperfections),ht. 66 3/4, wd. 43, dp. 23 in.
