Bronze Champleve Censer, Japan, 19th century, square, structured in three separate parts, including a square quadripod stand, a censer with rounded bottom and waisted top decorated with flanges along edges and hanging knobs at corners, two chilong-inspired handles to the waist, and a square cover topped with a shishi standing on his hind legs with his forelegs on an openwork ball, all decorated with floral designs against a ground with trellis patterns in bas relief, with a square wood stand, four-character mark partly reading "Murata zo" on the underside, ht. 23 in.
